Twywell Allotments

Welcome to the Allotments area of the website.
Hopefully you are all aware of the meeting on Wednesday 19th February 2025 @ 7pm in MacQueen House.
This meeting is to update all the current tenants on the future of the allotments once they are owned by Twywell Parish Council (TPC)
The TPC is looking to invest into the allotments by making them a safer, better and nicer place to visit with the input from the people who use them - the tenants. A long term development plan needs to be made by listening to the tenants and then agreed by TPC and worked too.
We are not looking to make major changes for existing tenants (unless you end your tenancy) when we expect the plot to be cleared of all items and structures. If you do not sign the new tenancy before 1st April 2025 your tenancy will end on 31.03.2025.
As part of the condition of sale TPC are expected to have a vacant site. At this point your old tenancy agreement (if you have one) will end. The new TPC agreement will then come into effect
Each tenant will need to meet with the Clerk. Photos of the plot will be taken as a record and held on file. Copies will be emailed to the tenant. We can discuss the plot and agree sensible outcomes for each plot (these will not necessarily be the same for each plot). This will be documented and signed along with the new agreement.
We are also having a 'Allotments Committee'. This will be made up of five allotment tenants, two councillors from the TPC and the Clerk. These people will also be involved with the allotment inspections as well as drafting the day to day running of the allotments so your points of view can be heard.
Please refer to the clerk if you are unhappy with anything (however big or small) as I am here to help you (07960 214820).
The clerk is also looking at making this page a working page for allotment holders. So if you want to pass tips on, something for sale, be a mentor for a new allotment holder - pass the information over as we re-vamp the Twywell Allotments
Below are the recently agreed policies by the TPC for you to look at.
